BREAKING: INEC Declares Aiyedatiwa Winner of Ondo Governorship Election

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa as winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.

Aiyedatiwa , the incumbent Governor, polled 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival from the People Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Agboola Ajayi who polled 117,845 votes who emerged second.

Declaring the results, INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi, said Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa scored the highest numbers of lawful votes to emerge winner of the election in line with electoral acts provisions.

He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa won in all the 18 local government areas of the state.

APC State Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin in a reaction, said the victory was a reflection of the overall interest of people in the State.
