BOWEN University Holds Convocation, Graduates 115 First Class Students on Saturday
Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State has announced that one hundred and fifteen students will graduate with first class honour during its 19th convocation ceremony this Saturday.
The faith based University noted that a total number of nine hundred and one would be graduating earning degrees at Bachelor’s , Masters and Doctorate Levels across various academic fields
Speaking at a press conference which heralded the convocation ceremony, Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Jonathan Babalola, explained that the first baptist university in Africa recorded had grown in leaps and bounds through spectrum of accomplishments, underscoring the university’s dedication to academic excellence.
The vice chancellor who noted that the university recorded remarkable progress as Eight of its academic programmes received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), signing of International partnership and collaboration as well as winning of grants and scholarships by students and staffs of the institution
Professor Babalola berated the non inclusion of private universities as beneficiaries of Tertiary Education Trust Fund grant and National Education Loan Fund, NELFUND calling for a review of the implementation of sixteen years age limit for admission into higher institution.
Other activities lined up for the week-long ceremony include Convocation lecture to be delivered by a leading virologist in Nigeria, Professor Oyewale Tomori on Friday while the conferement of first degree and post graduate comes up on Saturday
