IDGC 2024: Oyo NAWOJ Seeks Protection of Girls Against Violence, Child Marriage
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State Chapter, has sought the protection of girls against child marriage, violence, and exploitation.
The association noted that government’s ncreased investment in girls’ education and skills development would empower them as change agents in the society.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairperson, Mrs Omolola Alamu on the commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child
According to the statement, Alamu, said this year’s Theme: “Empowering Girls, Empowering Humanity” resonated with NAWOJ’s commitment to promoting girls’ education, health, and protection.
She advocated equal access to healthcare and economic opportunities for the girl child to enable them play key roles in the nation’s development.
