Independence Day: Activists Stage Protest in Osogbo

A Cross section of Activists have staged a Protest tagged ” Fearless in October” across major streets in Osogbo the Osun State Capital.

The Protesters guarded by combined Security Operatives, kick started the protest from Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, at 10 in the morning moved to Old Garage, Oke fia, Dele Yes Sir and Olaiya Junction the terminating point.

They stressed that despite EndBadGovernance Protest held in August this year, the Government is yet to respond to the plight of Nigerians.

Speaking the State Coordinator, Coalition for Concern Nigerian Citizens, CCNC, Mr. Adetunji Ajala frowned at the various policies by the present administration including; Increase in fuel price,hike in Electricity tarrif, Insecurity, Unemployment, Increase in Government Tertiary Institutions tution fees amongst others.

Reacting to the President’s Broadcast that The Present administration will hold a 30day National Youth Conference to chart a way forward for the Nation, Mr. Ajala said the Dialogue move would be a welcome development, if it is not for mere announcement and if the Representatives were not restricted to a Political Party.

He emphasised the need for President Tinubu to listen to the cry of Nigerians and vowed they would not relent until the Government address the plight of the Masses.

Also speaking two Representives of TAKE IT BACK MOVEMENT, Mr. Sunday Oguntola and Miss Oluwatosin Olasunkanmi noted that their Protest is not influenced or Sponsored by any Political Party but the protest aimed to inform the Federal Government that the Citizens were experiencing hardtimes.
