Ondo NSCDC Pledges Renewed Efforts To Combat Gender Based Violence
The Nigeria Security and Civil defence corps, Ondo state Command, NSCDC has reassured residents of the state that it will continue to give zero tolerance to issues of Gender Based Violence and other offices in the state.
The State Commander of the NSCDC, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye gave this assurance when the State Advocacy Team , SAT on COVID-19 response mechanism paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Akure.
The Commander, who expressed his commitment to tackling GBV., emphasised the importance of prompt response and support for GBV survivors, citing the crucial role security agencies play in providing initial encounters with survivors.
The Commander assured the team of the NSCDC’s zero-tolerance policy on GBV and highlighted ongoing efforts to train officers on effective response and referral mechanisms. 
He commended the advocacy team’s efforts and pledged to strengthen partnership in combating GBV.
Earlier, The team lead and the ATM coordinator in the state , Mrs Jumoke Ogunyemi had listed the aim of the visit to include Strengthening ties between the NSCDC and the advocacy team for efficient GBV response., Providing training for NSCDC officers on survivor-centered approaches and increasing awareness and sensitization on GBV prevention.
Mrs Ogunyemi noted that the courtesy visit marked a significant step towards forging a robust partnership between the NSCDC and the advocacy team.
She said working together with the NSCDC will create a safer environment for Ondo State residents, particularly women and girls most especially in all local government areas.
