Edo 2024: Gov Makinde Declares Support for PDP Candidate, Asue Ighodalo
Ahead of the Governorship election in Edo state,this Saturday,Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has declared his support for Peoples Democratic Party, governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
Governor Makinde made the declaration in Ibadan, while speaking during the ground-breaking of the upgrading of Ladoke Akintola Airport Ibadan to International Airport project.
He explained that he could not make the grand finale of PDP governorship candidate campaign held in Benin, the Edo state capital, few days ago,having scheduled an official meeting in Finland.
Governor Makinde declared 100 percent support for Asue Ighodalo to win the race in the Saturday governorship poll in Edo state urging people to vote for the PDP candidate.
He equally said he would support Mr Illiya Damagum, the chairman, National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reposition the party.
The governor maintained that he would support whatever decision Damagum led NWC take to repositioning the party.
Even if we have issues among ourselves i don’t think this is the right time to fight.
“We have an important election on Saturday in Edo State and we should just rally round and deliver our candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo,” he said.
