Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved two days off duty in a week for Officers on Grade Level 01 to 14 while Officers on Grade level 15 to 17 are to maintain one day off duty in a week.
The declaration was part of efforts to cushion the current economic realities in the country especially the hike in petrol,
The State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya said in a statement in Abeokuta that the gesture was aimed at further easing the burden on the teeming workers who now face more significant challenges commuting to work.
According to Mr Onasanya, the gesture is trusted to translate to a substantial relief while also enhancing Service delivery through a more motivated and energised workforce.
He urged all Accounting Officers to immediately implement the policy in their respective MDAs by working out modalities of ensuring that the day off system would be scheduled in such a way that service delivery would not compromised.
The governor had in July 2023 introduced the one day off work policy for all Grade Levels and the current extension to 2 days off- work for Grade level 01 to 14 is to further reduce the financial burden on workers and increase productivity.
