FG Flags Off Digital Skills Internship Programme for Graduates, Trains Over 700 Youths in Oyo

Federal Ministry of Education through lnnovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills, Ideas Project has flagged Off Digital Skills Internship Programme for Graduates of Skill up Digital Skills Training and Business Pitching in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Programme which was targeted at Youth Development was carried out in collaboration with a Private firm in Ibadan where over 700 youths were trained in various digital skills.

In a keynote address, the National Coordinator, IDEAS Project, Mrs Blessing Ogwu who was represented by the Innovation Grant Fund, IGF Consultant from the Agency, Mr. Ndem Ndiyo said, the initiative was to equip Nigerian Youths with digital knowledge that would enable them to participate in socio-economic and technological innovation processes for national development.

Earlier in an address of welcome, the Chief Executive Officer of the approved training firm, Miss Adejumoke Ipadeola the trainees including Persons With Disabilities, participated in software development and Product Design after which they obtained relevant Certification.

Speaking on the programme, Mr Reda Ayinde and Badmus Samad said, their experiences in digital skills would enable them to contribute meaningfully to the Technological innovations in the Country.

They commended the Federal Government for the initiative towards engaging the youths in skills that would reduce unemployment rates in Nigeria.

One of the Guest Speakers, an Ibadan based Youths Friendly Entrepreneur, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde called on Well meaning Nigerians to support the Government in creating more opportunities for the teeming Youths in the society, saying Government alone cannot do it but trying its best, hence the need for more engagements of youth in various developmental skills.

Dignitaries at the Event included, Former Rector, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Professor Kazeem Adebiyi, An APC Stalwart in Oyo State, Mr Ọpẹ Salami, Security Experts among others.
