Scavenger Cuts Off Celestial Church Shepherd’s Finger, Ear in Abeokuta
Operatives of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 24 year Scavenger, Ibrahim Ridwan for allegedly chopping off finger and ear of the Shepherd of a Celestial Church of Christ church, Tella Orelope in rounder area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
The State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Mr Soji Ganzallo, in a statement in Abeokuta through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, said the suspect was arrested after operatives of the corps through a tip off discovered that the shepherd of the Church, was under attack by armed robbers.
He said the suspect, Ridwan had confessed that his mission was to loot the Church, the Shepherd’s motorbike, electronic appliances, cables, admitting attacking the Shepherd’s wife who heard the noise and tried to escape.
The SO SAFE commander listed exhibits recovered from the suspect to include a cutlass, scissors, and pliers, adding that the suspect and exhibits had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Sabo Ilupeju Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
