House of Representatives Mourns Oyo Lawmaker, Prince Olaide Akinremi
The House of Representatives has mourned the death of member Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Prince Olaide Adewale Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban.
In a statement by the House Spokeman and Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Akin Rotimi, Jr, described the late member as a distinguished and ranking member of the 10th Assembly, who served as Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions
Until his demise, the Oyo legislator was a dedicated public servant known for his unwavering commitment to the development of his constituency and the country at large. His passion for service, coupled with his deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of his people, earned him the endearing title of ‘Jagaban.’”
“Throughout his tenure, he was a staunch advocate for policies and initiatives that promoted social welfare, economic growth, and scientific research. His contributions to legislative debates and his active participation in committee activities were a testament to his dedication and hard work.”
The statement notes that Late Akinremi was a grassroots politician and an astute statesman who leveraged his goodwill and network of relationships to attract positive impact to the people of his constituency.
The Green Chamber, through the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, expressed sadness over the loss and condoled with the immediate family, the APC, his constituency and Oyo state, praying God for the repose of his souls and the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
