NNPCL Inaugurates 12 CNG Retail Stations in Lagos, Abuja
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has inaugurated 12 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) retail outlets in Lagos and Abuja,
The initiatives mark a significant step in ensuring a cheaper and cleaner energy sources to Nigerians.
At the ceremony, NNPCL’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, said the company was committed to ensure the availability of CNG as an alternative energy source.
He stated that the transition to CNG is irreversible, emphasising the importance of sustainable and affordable fuel for the country.
The Chairman of the Presidential CNG Initiative, Mr. Toyin Zaubairu, highlighted the sustainability, saying natural gas was currently being underutilised
The minister advocated broader adoption of CNG as a key energy resource to boost the socio-economic life of the people.
On his part, The Minister of State for Petroleum, Gas, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, pointed out that each of the newly inaugurated outlets was equipped with dispensing capacities to cater for various energy needs of citizens.
NNPCL Retail Chairman, Mr. Hub Stokman, announced that the company would open over 100 additional CNG retail outlets across the country within the next six months.
