Gov. Sanwo-olu Gifts London to Lagos Lone Driver New Car, Apartment
It was a day of honour for Pelumi Nubi, a London to Lagos Lone driver, as the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu doled her with the gift of brand new car and apartment.
At a meeting with the governor at the government house in Alausa, Ikeja, Mr. Sanwo-olu also appointed the 28-year-old travel content creator, as the state tourism ambassador.
The Governor also offered to cover the cost of the travel, while gifting her a new apartment and a car.
Nubi, who completed her solo road trip from London, United Kingdom, to Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday was received at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on behalf of Lagos State Government by the state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and the Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe.
Nubi embarked on her solo trip in a car on January 30, 2024
Pelumi’s latest feat of traveling by road from London to Lagos was inspired by Nigerian biker Kunle Adeyanju who completed same trip for a polio campaign.
“He did it by bike two years ago. I was on the phone with him and mentioned how it was so cool what he did,” Pelumi said.
