JONAPWD Hails Gov Nasir Idris on Establishment of Commission for Persons with Disabilities

The National President, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria, JONAPWD , Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu -Usman has hailed the passage of the bill to establish the commission for persons with disabilities by the Kebbi State house of assembly

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Sunday

Aliyu-Usman said the establishment of the commission would ensure all-inclusive governance in the state saying persons with disabilities would now have a direct channel to the government.

He enjoined the governor to appoint members of the association into various departments of the commission so that issues relating to their welfare could be promptly processed and sorted as well as providing job opportunities to qualified members.

Aliyu-Usman, praised the Kebbi state Governor, Nasir Idris for taken prompt action on the plight of persons living with disabilities by living to his promise of fast tracking the establishment of the commission and its signage immediately it was passed.

He lauded the governor for practising all-inclusive governance in Kebbi state while calling for more programmes and initiatives centered on persons with disabilities so that they will not feel discriminated
