The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State Chapter, has commended the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, for recommending one of its members, Hajia Fatima Murahina, for appointment as Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State.

The association described the gesture as a demonstration of Osamaye’s commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusion and the advancement of women in leadership and public service.

NAWOJ Ondo expressed its appreciation in a letter jointly signed by its Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi (JP), and Secretary, Comrade Oluwatosin Ighoteguono.

The association said the recommendation was a source of pride and encouragement to its members, adding that it would inspire women journalists to continue contributing to the development of Ondo State and Nigeria.

It noted that Murahina’s recommendation was particularly significant, given her wealth of experience and contributions to the association over the years.

According to NAWOJ, Murahina has served in several leadership capacities, including as a former state chairperson of the association, former Assistant National Secretary and two-term Treasurer of the national body.

The association described her as an experienced leader whose contributions to NAWOJ made the recognition particularly meaningful.

It further stated that Osamaye’s gesture had strengthened its confidence in her commitment to promoting women’s participation in governance and other spheres of public service.

NAWOJ Ondo also prayed for continued wisdom, strength and greater accomplishments for the commissioner in her service to the state, particularly in advancing the welfare and development of women and society.

The association reiterated its gratitude to Osamaye for recognising and supporting one of its members for the important responsibility.
