A yet-to-be-identified man, who gave his name simply as Joseph, was on Sunday night apprehended at Ikare Junction in Owo, Ondo State, after he was allegedly found in possession of several female underwear.
According to a video circulated by popular blogger Oluwaseun Ogunmola, popularly known as Ogbeni OB Sugar, the suspect was caught with a white nylon bag reportedly filled with women’s pants.
In the viral footage, Joseph claimed he had travelled from Akoko to Owo in search of employment. He alleged that he found the underwear near a place where he had gone to take his bath.
Providing further explanation, the suspect also claimed he had sexual relations with a mentally unstable woman, alleging that she handed the nylon bag containing the items to him.
Angered by the discovery, some youths in the area reportedly confronted him and questioned his intentions, including whether he was involved in internet fraud rituals, popularly referred to as “Yahoo Plus.” He denied the allegation.
The situation nearly turned violent as irate youths allegedly attempted to lynch him before he was restrained by some residents at the scene.
As of press time, it was unclear whether the suspect had been handed over to security operatives for further investigation.
