Governor Abiodun Presents ₦703 Billion 2024 Budget
The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has presented the 2024 budget appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly.
Governor Abiodun, during the presentation explained that out of about 703 billion naira proposed for the 2024 Budget, about 415 billion naira would be for Capital Expenditure while recurrent expenditure would gulp about 287 billion naira.
He highlighted that the document tagged, “Budget of Sustained Growth and Development” had earmarked more than 95 billion naira to personnel costs, with consolidated revenue standing at 27.35 billion naira, while public debt charge was fixed at 59.09 billion and overhead cost was pegged at 105.88 billion naira for the next fiscal year.
The Governor noted that Education would attract 16 percent of the total budget, 12 percent would go to the Health sector, Housing and Community Development would get 5 percent , Agriculture and Industry would attract 2 percent while 30 percent was set aside for infrastructure, 3 percent for recreation and culture, with social protection getting 4 percent among others.
