In its ongoing effort to rid the highways within its jurisdiction of traffic violations that often lead to avoidable crashes and loss of life, the Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) held a Mobile Court at Iwaraja on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
The court was presided over by Magistrate Ayokunle Siyanbola of the Osun State Judiciary.
FRSC Sector Commander in Osun State, Corps Commander ‘Leye Adegboyega, disclosed this in a statement issued to the press on the same day in Osogbo.
Adegboyega said the exercise adhered to the schedule of Mobile Court Operations for the 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrols, which run nationwide from 15 December 2025 to 15 January 2026, as prepared by the Sector Command.
According to him, FRSC personnel were drawn from the host Ipetu‑Ijesa Unit Command for an operation that lasted about three hours.
He reported that a total of 33 traffic offenders were arraigned before the court for 75 separate offences, with Sector Legal Officer CRC Joshua Onalo acting as prosecuting counsel.
“All the 33 traffic offenders prosecuted were convicted and opted to pay fines,” he said.
“The operation yielded two cases of dangerous driving, ten driver‑licence violations, twelve speed‑related offences and sixteen arrests of overloaded vehicles.
“The results indicate the Command’s focus on critical offences that have been proven to be major causative factors in traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities.”
Adegboyega added that the Command urges the motoring public to remain safety‑conscious at all times and to desist from driving habits that compromise safety.
He reiterated the Command’s readiness to continue pursuing its mandate of creating a safe motoring environment, both during and beyond the 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrols.
