The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, Oluyemi Joshua Ibiloye JP, has ordered the deployment of personnel across the nooks and crannies of the state ahead of this year’s Yelutide celebration.
The deployment which was contained in an Operational Order released by the Operations department is in a bid to ensure security of lives and property of residents as well as Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the state and it’s environs before, during and after the yelutide.
In a statement release by the Public Relations Officer NSCDC Ondo State Command, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor said the deployment Order is targeted at providing comprehensive and water tight security coverage across the state with the deployment of multiple departments and units.
The deployment cuts across specialized teams such as the Arms Squad, Crack Squad, CNAI, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosives (CBRNE), Female Strike Force, Counter Terrorism Unit(CTU), Agro Rangers, and the Surveillance Unit.
The festive season is expected to attract large crowds and it requires enhanced and proactive security measures. There is also massive deployment to vulnerable locations and soft targets such as churches, Shopping Malls, Recreational Centres, Markets, Motor Parks, and Amusement parks, with the activation of motorized patrol team.
Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the 18 Local government Areas (LGA) and the LCDAs are to ensure their various jurisdictions and operational areas are adequately covered by collaborating with other sister agencies to avoid security hitches.
The Command helmsman, assures residents of the Sunshine State of a safe celebration by ensuring a secured environment before, during and after the celebration. He urges residents of the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements, individual or group to Security agencies.
Commandant Ibiloye extends his warm felicitations to the government and good people of Ondo state. Appreciating the unalloyed support the Corps has enjoyed in the outgoing year. He particularly eulogise the Nigerian Union of Journalist, Ondo state chapter for their professional reportage and collaborations.
