Radio Nigeria’s Dayo Adu Picks Nomination Form for Oyo NUJ Secretary

A multi-talented journalist with Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, Dayo Adu, has picked the nomination form to contest for the position of Secretary of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the forthcoming election scheduled for December 9, 2025.

Adu, a Principal Reporter at Radio Nigeria, is a seasoned broadcaster and master storyteller with a passion for developmental journalism. He is an alumnus of the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, EKSU) and Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos.

With years of experience in news reporting and editing, Adu has distinguished himself in the field through impactful stories that have earned him both national and international recognition.

While receiving his nomination form from the Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Mr. Ismail Fasasi, Adu described his decision to contest as a purposeful step rooted in service rather than personal ambition.

“This decision goes beyond a mere ambition to be counted among the executives of our great union. It is a deliberate commitment to contribute my experience, training, and skills toward strengthening the union and advancing its professional and ethical standards,” he stated.

Adu noted that his aspiration is anchored on his belief in a vibrant, united, and ethically sound NUJ that prioritizes the welfare and professional growth of its members.

He added that, pending the official lifting of the campaign ban, he would soon unveil his “evolutionary agenda”, which he described as a roadmap to reposition the union for greater efficiency, unity, and respect within the media landscape.
