Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the swift response and ongoing investigation into the recent killings in Akinlalu, Ife North Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke expressed confidence in the investigation process and pledged the state government’s full cooperation to ensure justice is served.
While commiserating with the victims and their families, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible are brought to book, stressing that no one, regardless of status or influence, would be shielded from the law.
The Governor, however, urged security agencies to strictly observe due process and uphold the rule of law throughout the investigation, emphasizing that innocent persons must be protected.
Governor Adeleke further called on all stakeholders, including the police, the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Amotekun Corps, to maintain peace and order in the affected community while investigations continue.
