Makinde Inaugurates Planning Committee for Oyo State at 50

Oyo State Governor, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, has inaugurated the Oyo State at 50 Anniversary Planning Committee, noting that the state has come a long way and its achievements over the last 50 years should be celebrated.

Governor Makinde, while inaugurating the 11-member committee at the Executive Council Chamber, Office of the Executive Governor, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, said his administration would continue to appoint people that can assist in moving the state forward, irrespective of their political parties.

The committee comprises a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saheed Akinade Fijabi, who is the chairman of the committee; former Oyo State Head of Service, Alhaja Ololade Agboola (Deputy Chairman) and Mrs Ronke Adedayo (Secretary).

Governor Makinde explained that the objective of the anniversary is to showcase the achievements of the sate across different sectors in the past 50 years.

The governor equally tasked them to reach out to people that have made sacrifices for the state; those that have made Oyo State great and also recognise and appreciate those that are still rendering their services to the development of the state.

In a remark, the chairman of the Committee, Saheed Fijabi said relevant stakeholders across the state would be consulted to Showcase Oyo state in the last fifty years.

Other members of the committee are; Dr Z.O Ajuwon (OON); Mr Mustapha Rasaq Areo; Alhaja Fatimah Ololade Azeez; Mr S.A. Adejumo; Pastor John Olasunkanmi Alabi; Alhaji Gafar Bello; Compol Fatai Owoseni (rtd) and Mr Samuel Adegboyega Badejo.
