A 23-year old man, Oki Segun, has been arraigned before an Iwaro-Oka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly using shovel to injure the forehead of a lawyer, Kolapo Inumo.
The police arraigned the defendant before Magistrate B.A Ikusika on a two-count charge.
According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the crime on August 10, 2025 at about 08:00a.m at Abisi Quarters, Oka Akoko in the Oka-Akoko.
The prosecutor, Inspector Kehinde Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant had earlier refused and resisted police arrest.
The offences contravened Section 383(1) and punishable under Section 332 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol.I Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The defendant had no legal representation.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, B.A Ikusika, ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case till August 20, 2025.
