Renewed Hope Initiative: Ondo Govt, Tony Elumelu Foundation to Empower 500 Women

The Ondo State Government is to launch the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Women Economic Empowerment Programme of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu OON CON, in Collaboration with Tony Elumelu Foundation.

The programme aims to provide small business recapitalization grants to 500 women in Ondo State, this aligns with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s Women’s Economic Independence in His Our Ease agenda.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye, the event will be led and chaired by the First Lady of Ondo State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Esther Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa.

The statement adds that the event will take place on Thursday, 14th August 2025 by 10:00 am at the International Event and Cultural Centre, Dome Akure, Ondo state

The programme is about supporting the entrepreneurial spirit of women traders and small-scale business Owners by providing them with the necessary financial support to grow their businesses.

It adds that the initiative is expected to have significant impacts on the economic development of the state, particularly in the area of women’s economic empowerment.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development who doubles as the Ondo State RHI Coordinator, expressed her excitement about the programme, stating that it aligns with the Aiyedatiwa administration’s Our Ease agenda for women’s economic independence.

She encouraged all stakeholders to support the initiative and work together to empower women in the state.
