Corps members serving in Oyo State have been urged to act as catalysts for positive change in their host communities. This call was made during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream One orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Iseyin, Oyo State.
Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by Alhaja Kudirat Mustapha, Director of Sports Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, emphasized the important role of youth in national development. He charged the newly inducted corps members to uphold integrity and serve as role models in their communities.
Our society looks up to you as leaders and change agents. Use your expertise to combat poverty, promote unity, and support the fight against corruption,” the governor stated.
In his remarks, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Abel Oche, encouraged corps members to build on the values and discipline instilled during the three-week orientation. He urged them to develop additional skills for self-reliance and long-term impact.
Mr. Oche also reminded the corps members to respect the traditions and customs of their host communities. He advocated for the establishment of corps lodges across the 33 local government areas in the state to ease accommodation challenges faced by corps members.
As they embark on their service year, the corps members were encouraged to remain committed, responsible, and proactive in contributing to the social and economic development of their communities.
