A Professor of Mathematics and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prof. Oyewole Rafiu Durodoye, has called for peace, love, and tolerance among Nigerians as Christians celebrate Easter.
In a personally signed Easter message, Prof. Durodoye extended his heartfelt felicitations to all Nigerians, especially the people of Osun State and his hometown, Osogbo. He congratulated Christians across the country as they join their brethren around the world in commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Describing Easter as a season that represents sacrifice, victory, and the fulfillment of divine purpose, Prof. Durodoye urged Nigerians to embrace the virtues of patience, love, sacrifice, and abiding faith. He emphasized that these Christian values are essential for national development and a better future.
As we celebrate this unique occasion, let us reflect on the significance of Easter – the ultimate demonstration of sacrificial love,” he stated. “The season should rekindle our hope for victory over both personal and collective challenges.”
Prof. Durodoye, a distinguished academic and frontline politician, called on all Nigerians to pray for peace and security amid the ongoing challenges of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and communal conflicts. He noted that these issues threaten not just the nation’s economy but its very existence.He appealed to all citizens to remain hopeful, faithful, and supportive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, as it works to build a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
“I pray that the triumph of Christ inspires people of faith to remain steadfast and hopeful, confident that we can overcome every trial facing us as individuals and as a nation,” he concluded
