Benue State Governor Rev’d Fr. Hyacinth Alia has called on the federal government to intervene in the growing insecurity in the state, which has led to killings with death toll of 56 as a result of recent attacks by suspected herdsmen on the local government areas of Ukum and Logo.
The governor made the call on Saturday while investigating the effects of suspected herdsman attacks in the local government areas of Ukum and Logo.
Addressing newsmen, after the tour of the impacted towns in the two local government districts, Rev’d Fr Alia condemned the brutal assaults on the helpless residents and urged security forces to take more decisive action to stop these crimes.
During the visit to the affected communities, the governor met with community leaders and their people whom he assured them that the government was addressing insecurity in the state
